Pregnancy itching can manifest as paroxysmal or persistent. It usually becomes mild or not itchy when you are stressed at work during the day, or when you are mentally focused on other things. In the middle of the night, when you are still trying to sleep, the itching is often severe, and the more you scratch, the more serious it will be, making it difficult to fall asleep.
Pregnant women with itchy body during pregnancy, some skin There is a miliary rash on the skin, and some have no rash; Some itches will subside on their own within a short period of time, while others will last until the end of pregnancy and disappear quickly after delivery. Because this kind of skin itching is a unique symptom during pregnancy, it is also called prurigo pregnancy or pruritus of pregnancy.
The rash subsided on its own within 1 month after delivery, and the itching also disappeared. It can also last for several months or may recur during the next pregnancy. Some people believe that prurigo of pregnancy is a mild form of papular dermatitis of pregnancy. But what exactly causes this itchy rash that is unique to pregnant women? Next, let us learn together~~
reason:
The cause of this disease is unclear, but it tends to be autoimmune disease Some data show that the skin sensitivity of pregnant women with prurigo is often higher than that of pregnant women without prurigo, and they also suffer from prurigo. Urticaria、asthma It is not uncommon for people with allergic diseases such as skin scratch test to be positive, eosinophils in the blood to increase significantly, chorionic gonadotropin to increase during pregnancy, and sensitivity to pregnancy metabolites may be the causative factor.; Some scholars also believe that prurigo of pregnancy is a non-exudative variant of herpes gestationis, which needs further confirmation.
From the perspective of Western medicine, there may be two reasons for pregnancy itchiness: First, it may be related to the high estrogen content in the blood of pregnant women.; The second is related to cholestasis. Researchers believe that due to the prolonged emptying time of the gallbladder in pregnant women, the gallbladder expands and reduces its tone, leading to the formation of cholestasis. The content of bile acids and bile salts increases, leading to skin itching.
Pathogenesis:
1. The naked eye sees symmetrically distributed, mung bean-sized, round, slightly flat, solid papules on the top. There are wheals between the papules, and scratching forms denuded surfaces and bloody scabs. After the scabs fall off, the rash subsides, and local pigmentation may remain or disappear.
2. Pathological changes in skin tissue are non-specific. In the early stage of papules, there is mild hypertrophy of the acanthocyte layer of the epidermis, with localized spongy formation on the epidermis, and occasionally the formation of small blisters and parakeratosis. There is mild lymphocyte infiltration around the superficial blood vessels in the dermis, and sometimes a small amount of eosinophils and dermal papillary edema can be seen. Papules with epidermal exfoliation show partial loss of epidermis and are covered by scabs containing denatured inflammatory cell nuclei. If serial sections are taken, cytological changes centered on the hair follicles can be seen, manifested as sponge formation, mononuclear cell infiltration from the hair follicle opening to the sebaceous gland opening, and inflammatory cell infiltration around the hair follicles.
prevention:
Strengthen health promotion during pregnancy, keep the whole body clean, avoid bathing and sexual intercourse in late pregnancy, strengthen nutrition, strengthen physical fitness, and treat acute vulva Vaginitis and Cervicitis and other complications to avoid premature rupture of membranes, delayed labor, birth canal damage and Postpartum Bleeding, disinfecting maternal supplies, strict aseptic operation, correct indications for surgical delivery, close observation after delivery, and antibiotic prophylaxis for those who may develop puerperal infection and puerperal disease
