Women who exercise normally and naturally will only experience a small increase in testosterone 1-2 hours after strength training. It will not remain high for a long time, let alone reach the level that everyone is worried about causing masculine characteristics.

I was previously frightened by the statement on the Internet that "girls will turn into men if they masturbate". I specifically talked to a sports nutritionist I know well at the gym and read several sports medicine literature. I found that the point of controversy was actually confusing "short-term fluctuations" with "long-term increases", "natural secretion" and "exogenous supplements". The basic testosterone level of ordinary women is only about 1/15 of that of men. Even if the peak value increases by 20%-30% after training, it is still far from the basic value of men. This increase will at most help you repair your muscles and improve your exercise status, and will not even touch the threshold of making you grow excess hair. This kind of short-term increase is actually like your body temperature rising temporarily after running for two laps, and then falling back after half an hour of rest. You can't say you have a fever just after running, right?

My best friend used to do 2 hours of strength and 1 hour of aerobics every day, and didn't even dare to eat anything. During that time, she did break out on her chin, and my aunt postponed it for 10 days. She insisted that her testosterone was high, but she went to check six hormones. Testosterone was only less than 10% higher than the upper limit of normal, but the stress hormone cortisol was much higher. Later, she adjusted her training volume, added half a spoonful of peanut butter every day, and slept for 8 hours. In the second month, her indicators were all normal. Now she has been masturbating for 2 years, her waist-to-hip ratio is amazing, her skin has not deteriorated, and she has not even grown the mustache that she was worried about before.

There is also a female bodybuilding competitor in our gym who trains three or four hours a day during the preparation period. Her hormones are all within the normal female range when preparing for competition. Only those unnatural competitors who take anabolic steroids privately will have a protruding Adam's apple and a thickened voice. This is not the same as our ordinary fitness enthusiasts who practice three or four times a week for an hour each time.

Many people feel that they have become "masculine" after working out. In fact, most of them blame other problems on testosterone: either their body fat has dropped too quickly and their skin has become temporarily rough, or they have overeating and staying up late, disrupting their endocrine system. To be honest, the training intensity of ordinary people is far from enough to induce long-term endocrine disorders. Instead of worrying blindly about rising testosterone, it is more practical to worry about whether you have slept enough and eaten enough staple food.
